Training Programme
ACIE offers training in Charity Accounting and Independent Examination at three different levels.
If you wish to register an interest in future courses please contact us.
- Introductory - This is a three day course (plus the equivalent of two days homework) aimed at people wanting to carry out independent examination of charities with incomes of under £100,000. It assumes no accounting background; deals mainly with receipts and payments accounting with some simple accruals accounting; and is particularly suited to volunteer examiners.
- Intermediate - This is a two day course (plus one days homework) aimed at people who want to carry out an independent examination of charities with incomes of up to £250,000. It assumes either previous attendance at the introductory course or familiarity with basic accruals accounting. Notes from the introductory course may be recommended reading for some participants.
Next course: planned for March 2010 in York Click here for further details and to download an application form
- Advanced - This course is in fact two stand alone days, the first of which deals with charity accounting and the second with independent examination. The material is presented in lecture style rather than as a workshop. A professional understanding of accounting principles is assumed.
Next course: May 2010 in London Click here for further details and to download an application form
- Advanced Charity Accounting and IE (AAT)- ACIE provides the trainer and materials for the AAT (Association of Accounting
Technicians) CPD day on Charity Accounting and IE, which equate, respectively, to Days 1 and 2 of ACIE’s Advanced training. These days are open to non-AAT members: see www.aat.org.uk/cpd
NOTE: Geography - Charity accounting and independent examination is different in Scotland from England/Wales. The courses deal with one or other regime.
